So we had an early peek at what spring weather will be like this year, and then we got a big slap of cold to remind us that it’s still winter. It can really throw you for a loop, but there is an easy way to force your way into springtime – adopt these easy eye makeup trends stolen from the spring fashion runways. You’ll look fresh and ready for warm weather no matter what the thermometer says.
This year we’ll be seeing a lot of glitter, from mild to wild. To get a shimmery starry eyes look, first prep your lids with a concealer to create a nice, smooth surface. Add a neutral matte shadow into the crease and blend. This will add depth. Use a small shadow brush to press shimmery powder all over your lids and into the corners to bring on the glitter. Apply a sweep of liquid liner to the outer half of your upper and lower lash lines. Finish it off with a shot of velvety mascara from the base of your lashes all the way to the tips. For extra drama, add a second coat.
The cat eye trend will still be a big thing this year, but it can be a real time consumer. Fortunately there’s a quicker way to get the look. Use a slanted eyeliner brush and apply black shadow in short strokes from the middle of your upper lash line out to the corner and end it with a short flick. Next, smudge the shadow along your lower lash line from the middle out to the corner. Trace over the shadow on the top lash line with liquid liner and follow up with two coats of a thickening mascara. Finish the complete look with a sweep each of neutral blush and lip color.
