No-Fret Fall Makeup
Even though you’ve put away your summer wardrobe, there’s still lots of fun to be had now that it’s fall. And you don’t want to be spending time in front of a mirror applying makeup just so when you can be out and about enjoying it all. That’s where these uber simple makeup ideas will come in handy. You’ll look great and up-to-date but best of all they won’t take too much time to accomplish.
Divide your face into theoretical zones – lips, cheeks and eyes – and pick one for your focus. Beginning with lips, you can’t go wrong with a statement color this fall. Red is a classic color but this season take it a shade darker than you normally would. Think merlot or burgundy, or even take it right to the edge of brown. If reds aren’t your thing, go with mauve or deep plum, and consider taking the plunge over to the brown range. If you choose a shade that’s more sedate, you can play up your eyes instead.
And speaking of eyes, there’s a whole lot of fun to be had with your peepers this fall. Jewel tones, including that 60s favorite baby blue, are back in a big way, and they’ll be on display in traditional applications as well as chunky blocks of graphic color or an updated, colorful take on the smoky eye. Liner will be another key player this fall too. The cat eye gets a makeover into the wishbone, a more subtle wing that reaches just part way across your lash lines. And don’t worry about pencil liner that goes a bit smudgy. This grunge look is popping up everywhere on purpose.
