Extensions Make Lashes Perfectly Pool-proof
When it comes to our beauty routines, summer poses some challenges. One such challenge is how to keep your lashes looking great while swimming. Waterproof mascaras are great for a short frolic in the waves, but most just won’t last through a day of intense water activities, and false lashes have a tendency to fall off at the worst times. So what’s a gal to do? Pool-proof those peepers with lash extensions.
What They Are?
Nearly everyone is familiar with false eyelashes. Strips of synthetic lashes are glued to the lash line to give you that wow factor of long luscious lashes. The problem is they need to be reapplied continuously and they don’t always stay in place. Lash extensions are affixed on top of your existing lashes, meaning they stay on and stay put until your lashes are shed naturally, so no daily struggle and no falsies floating in the pool.
Will They Work For Me?
Lash extensions can work for anyone that has eyelashes. If you do not have natural lashes, false eyelashes are still going to be our best option. You need lashes to have something to affix the extensions to. However, whether your natural lashes are thick or thin, long or short, light or dark, extensions can give them a boost. Lash extensions are customizable to give you the shape, length, thickness, and color that you want.
What Should I Do Before My Appointment?
For faster prep and to get the most secure application, you should arrive at your appointment makeup-free with your eyes clean and dry. Excess oils and makeup residue can cause weak bonds between your lashes and extensions, meaning they don’t stay on as they should. So thoroughly remove your eye makeup the night before and cleanse your face well the morning of your appointment.
Are They Hard to Care For?
Lash extensions are hassle-free. For at least 24 hours following the application, you should avoid getting them wet. After that, you can resume your usual activities. You may want to steer clear of oil-based products on or around your lashes though. The oils can cause the adhesive used to apply the extensions to break down, and that we don’t want. As your natural lashes shed you will need to come in for a refill. How soon you will need a refill depends on your unique lash growth pattern and can range from 1-4 weeks.
