Microblading Aftercare Instructions FAQ:

What is the best aftercare for microblading?

Cetaphil face wash, A&D healing ointment, and distilled water are the safest aftercare for microblading that can be picked up at any local pharmacy.

When can I wash my eyebrows after microblading?

Prior to bed cleanse your eyebrows. Begin by cleansing hands first. Mix a dime size amount of Cetaphil & distilled water in your fingertips then gently TAP (don’t rub) thoroughly onto & around your brows. Next BLOT with clean/dry cotton round to remove the excess soap. Then soak a clean cotton round with distilled water & blot until all soap has been removed. Lastly, blot completely dry with clean/dry cotton round.

Things to AVOID after your Microblading service.

Rubbing, scrubbing, scratching or picking the tattoo. Let the area flake off naturally. No heavy sweating for 10 days. Light exercise may be resumed after 5 days. No hot tubs, steam rooms or pools. Do not submerge in any water for 10 days. No tanning beds or direct sunlight for 14 days. Always use SPF 50 on brows to avoid discoloring. No makeup on area for 7 daysNo lasers, facials, chemical peels, or microdermabrasion for 4 weeks. No Retin-A or Glycolic acid for 4 weeks. No heavy cleaning that will produce airborne debris. No spicy foods to avoid sweating. Avoid Smoking. Drinking alcohol will slow the healing process. Avoid open air vehicles such as convertibles, motorcycles or boating for 10 days.

How long after microblading can I workout?

It is recommended to avoid heavy exercise for 7-10 days after your microblading session. Sweating during the microblading healing process is your new brow pigments worst enemy and increases risk of bacteria causing infection. Sweating will essentially push the new pigment out of the skin and the healing results will be uneven. This minimal downtime ensures that your path to stunning eyebrows doesn't interrupt this stage of the microblading healing process.

Microblading post care day by day 1-10.

Only use the distilled water on your brows. Keep shower time short to avoid steam (5 minutes). Use face guards if possible & do not allow direct pressure from the shower head to touch your brow or face area. Cleanse your brows once in the morning & once at night. Apply tiny amount (rice size) of the A&D ointment provided with a clean cotton swab 3 times a day. It is important to NOT over apply the ointment as this will affect healing. NEVER put ointment on damp/wet brows. NEVER rub/scrub/pick the brows- this will damage the healing process and remove pigment.

Why has my microblading disappeared?

This is when the “new skin layers” regeneration process begins. During this phase the brows will appear MUCH lighter or even faded. It could look like very little was even done. This is due to the top layers of the skin being brand new as it is still forming your natural melanin color and can appear “whiteish”. Don’t worry! The pigment is still under there it is just “clouded” by the new skin. For example, think about when you get a light scratch or scrape. (Example: cat scratch or skinned knee). After the scab is gone, the new skin that was underneath always appears lighter, or depending on your complexion, sometimes white. However, over the next couple weeks it fades away to look just like your regular skin, right? This is the same process the body is going through for the brows to heal. Once the new skin has received its natural pigment from your body on top of the implanted pigment, POOF! Your brows are back!  NOTE: Even with 100% proper care your pigment will lighten up anywhere from 20-40%.

Does microblading fade?

A key benefit of this semi-permanent technique is its graceful fading process. Unlike permanent tattoos, microblading fades naturally over time, allowing for flexibility and adjustments to your changing style and beauty preferences. The fading process, typically occurring over 18 to 30 months, provides a perfect balance. You can opt for a touch-up session to refresh your brows or let them lighten gradually for a subtler appearance.

Is microblading permanent?

Yes & No. Microblading is a form of semi-permanent tattooing. The hand tools create thinner, more precise, hairlike strokes that aren’t as deeply ingrained into the skin unlike body tattoos. Semi-Permanent Makeup artist work in the epidermis (surface) layer of the skin, whereas Body Tattoo artists work deeper into the dermis layer. The pigment also differs from that of a tattoo because (1) it’s only semi-permanent, which means your body eventually ends up metabolizing it, so it fades away, and (2) the dye particles are less concentrated in microblading ink than in the ink of a traditional tattoo.

Microblading how long does it last?

The longevity of microblading always varies with each client depending on your skin type, lifestyle, and health. Typically, results last 1-3 years. We recommend a Color Boost every 12-18 months.

How to fade microblading?

Excessive sun exposure or tanning beds, retinol usage or over exfoliation, & smoking are just a few lifestyle traits that can cause premature fading. Oily skin tends to fade quicker.
